love this show. anyone seen it? discovery channel, 9 pm on tuesdays.
phil and sig are the two best captains. they're so gruff and mean. good captains, though.

one boat had hoisted a wrecked truck on deck before setting off because the captain had been bitching about needing a new truck or something. it was a joke that the captain didn't enjoy, and it turned out to be a huge hassle. had to move it out of the way with the crane repeatedly, to get to the traps in order to deploy them overboard. so the captain decided to go find another boat's submerged traps. he hoisted one, removed the crab trap, attached the truck, and dumped it over, and left. the other captain went to retrieve his traps, and was surprised when the winch was having trouble on one of them. then he hauls up a huge wrecked truck autographed, in paint, by the crew of the other boat. basically just giving their problem to someone else.

Apr 16, 2008 09:52 pm forty, ya that is one cool show for sure. I have a few friends that fish up there. One owns his own boat and was in a couple of episodes of the first season very briefly, not a major part of the series though. Now I wish he was.
And ya, Phil and Sig are the two main reasons I watch that show as well. It is probably the only reality TV show I can handle, other then Dirty Jobs as I find it funny as hell when Mike F's up all the time.
But that is one hell of a business if you can stick it out like those guys. They make some huge money as there are several fishing seasons for them if they choose to do them all.
