Sonar Instrument Definition problems

Hi, guys. I'm having some trouble with these dadburn instrument definitions. I have a Yamaha W7 keyboard. It has three banks of 128 midi voices on each. I can only save edited voices on one bank, which is called the Factory Internal Bank. I can import the ins file, and all is well, except that my edited sounds don't show up in the list. Now, I know I can manually type in each voice and have them there, but what happens if I have 3 or 4 different banks that I use? Is it possible to have more than one instance of an ins file in there at the same time? Maybe Yamaha 1 and Yamaha 2? I can edit the master ins file that came with Sonar, and I actually got my sounds with my patch names to show up in the list, but it seems like a pain to have to import a new ins file every time I want to change the bank. Does this make sense? I use Soundiver to dump different libraries into my keyboard, and what I want to do is load the library into the synth, then have the patch names already there in Sonar waiting for me. If I need to be more clear, please say so and I'll try again, but this is really bothering me. What does a guy do after a few years when he has a ton of voice banks? I think there should be a way to have all my edited banks in Sonar, then be able to access the sounds when I load a particular bank into the keyboard. Anyone wanna take a stab at this one? I would appreciate it! Thanks

Ed

Yes Ed, that is how I do it with a synth that as user programable bank's. You just build multiple instance's of the bank as you described and they will all be there to choose from when you select the proper bank.

Thank you, my fellow MIDI-geek !!! If my eyes weren't burning from a lack of sleep, I'd get into it tonight. Tomorrow will come! C-ya
