i want to use pro tools however i was wondering if a line 6 ux1 toneport will work with it, or will i need to get an m-audio thing??

You'll have to buy either DigiDesign or M-Audio hardware in order to use the ProTools software.

Depending on the version of PT M-audio may not work either. That is for the versions that are referred to in the M-Powered series.

But no, a UX will not work as an interface with PT.
