MIDI question: latency compensation

Now I've had a chance to lay down a few drum tracks with my new USB MIDI controller. Everything seems to be working great, but I have 1 nagging problem and I'm not sure what adjustment needs to be made:

I hit record, do my drum performance to the click track and finish recording. When I go back to correct my terrible timing, I notice that almost every single note is in front of the beat by about 1/32 note. Now I know my timing is bad but I tend to play behind the beat, not in front of it. When I listen back to the performance, sure enough the majority of my notes are in front of the beat, while the late notes are pretty much on the beat.

Its like there is something compensating for latency, but its over-compensating. I checked the control panel for my XBoard but there aren't any latency settings. Same in cubase SE. Where do I make this adjustment to tone down the latency compensation if there even is such a thing?

Or is my studio located next to some sort of time/space warp that only manifests itself in my MIDI recordings?

In the Devices menu/vst multitrack. It could be elsewhere but definitely in the devices menu. Also there is a folder in programs/steinberg(from windows explorer)that will be labelled emulated midi or something to that effect. There is a single dll file in that folder called (ignore emulated midi ports or something to that effect. You can try dragging this file out of that folder into the parent folder. This file is included as some people having similar problems found that the emulated ports were the cause of the problem.

I know that my descriptions leave a lot to be desired. If you like I will repost with the proper folder and file names (after work. hehe).

Tadpui, are you using EZ drummer? IF so there should be a latency comp setting in there, or as hueseph stated it can also be found in the VSTi menu as well. Even in SE it should be there. I know it is present in the options/midi of all Cakewalk products so would assume it might be in that type of place as well for Steinberg stuff. Try the options or preferences drop down menu. You simply need to adjust that and you'll be all good. I know some folks don't like messing with it and simply move or nudge the entire line by what ever it is off.
