is this a good card for recording
I previously installed it and plan to use it with cubase le and se3
I plan to get the mackie dfx12 mixer for recording as well since I own many keyboards and sound modules
or should I get a better sound card?

On the xFi, while it is a great gaming and surround card for PC video and the like it is sadly a bit lacking for recording use. You will find it may not give very good playback while mixing and choke on a multi track load. Especially if you use any DSP effects while mixing.
While the sound is very good indeed, and it will probably record with decent quality it will not function as well as a more dedicated recording card would.
