I know it's a stupid question, but can anyone give me a short crash course on how and when to use them?

Feb 16, 2008 02:08 pm Yes it does. Its under Dynamics in the list of VST effects. I think that it's combined with an noise gate and a limiter, but there's a compressor function on there as well.
There's tons of free ones too if you look around. KVR Audio is a great resource for free VST effects and instruments:
