I have reason 4.0,Tascam 122L, and i want to hook up a piano so that i can play different notes into reason.
Do i hook up the piano in MIDI IN? and what do i do with midi out? Have to buy any cables?
I have no knowledge on how to do this at all, any help is really appreciated.

Feb 08, 2008 08:47 am The MIDI out of your piano should plug in to a MIDI input of the sound interface...then you need to configure Reason to listen for that data, it will turn the MIDI data into audio and send it out of your audio outputs.
The MIDI output of the sound interface will be meaningless unless you need to send the piano sysex messages or anything like that...

Feb 11, 2008 11:50 am No, the phones / aux output will send signal that you can hear, as (analog) sound, not midi data, as digital.
You will need a MIDI cable, to go between the piano MIDI OUT, and the 122 MIDI IN.
dB covered you pretty well. You don't need MIDI out on the 122, unless you want to send signal further to another device, which you don't.
The aux output (analog) can be used to record the sounds created by the piano, but not MIDI data.
