THD Hotplate query

Just a curious question. I know it is safe to run a 8ohms into a 16ohm cabinet. But what about 8ohms into a 16ohm THD Hotplate then the 16ohm cab. I just bought a Mesa and its highest ohmage is 8ohms out. Can I run this into my 16ohm Hotplate safely or not?

Feb 06, 2008 10:04 am Ask THD, they have good customer support and provide quick answers. You can go to their website and get their customer support email address. I got answers back within 24 hours when I inquired.
Personally I wouldn't ever run a cab into a HotPlate designed for a different resistance just because you're running your amp full-out when you use an attenuator and you never know how it'll react to a resistance its not designed to push.
