You've already got a UBB1002, is that not working out for ya? And for compression, outboard cant be beat, but software is just as good. Have you looked around for VST compressors yet?
Personally, if I were you, I'd get a full fledged program before messing with hardware. you'd be surprised what a program like Sonar 7PE can do.
