Jan 28, 2008 01:42 pm Welcome home "WEELCOME HOME"Fire retro "FIRE RETRO" (Roberts head blows off steam)cut that out Zooney.Fireball XL5 great stuff.
Jan 28, 2008 02:13 pm I wounder the same thing. I'd love to get out of traffic jams that way!
But, then I got to thinking. If insurance cost are to high right now, with people driving in two dimensional space. What's going to happen when the moron that can Handel chewing bubble gum, and turning the wheel at the same time, gets into three dimensional space?

Jan 28, 2008 02:18 pm Ya, the whole flying car thing falls apart once you start thinking about the infrastructure.
ok then,
Where's my teleporter?! Of course I don't really want to end up like a fly either.
Jan 28, 2008 02:22 pm the Jetsons had flying cars and they still flew in organized roads, theirs folded into a briefcase too, how cool would THAT be!

Jan 28, 2008 02:27 pm do you need infrastructure, if your car flys?
Jan 28, 2008 02:30 pm Yeah, just what we need. A traffic jam at 3000 feet.
Jan 28, 2008 02:31 pm ...or an accident where somebody is flung from the car...
Jan 28, 2008 02:35 pm I don't know? That I'd pay to see!
Just as long as it was some jerk on their cell phone!

Jan 28, 2008 05:44 pm Ya, I don't think we will see these showing up anytime soon.
Why not just fly a plane and call it a car?

Jan 28, 2008 05:46 pm Flying cars have been out for years....
Jan 28, 2008 06:37 pm mythbusters busted the general lee myth, but i don't think they did it correctly. in their test, the car landed hard on its front end, which got all smashed. what if the trunk had been loaded with weight, though? might the dukes have done that? it's conceivable that they'd take steps to even out the weight so that the car isn't front-heavy.

Jan 28, 2008 06:45 pm You didn't say it had to survive the flight, or even fly for very long :)

Jan 29, 2008 10:11 pm Ya, the General Lee cars were all special built to land and keep going, at least for a short time. They built special cars just for the jumping parts.
