Drum Loops

Hi, this is my first post and I hope its an easily solved one.

I've recently lost a hard disk. It was my main hard disk with all my songs on it, about 19Gb of my own work.

I also lost all my drum loops, most of which I had for years and was chopping up and recycling quite a bit.

Where are people getting their loops from these days? Are free loops and samples still available? I'm mainly after fairly straight 4/4 rock beats in various forms but I'd also like plenty of single hits and crashes for making up my own loops in addition to fills etc.

Is this sort of stuff still available on the net.

Thanks,

James

What happened? Depending on the problem, you may be able to get it all back. Don't want to create false hope, but it MAY be possible.

It appears to have "parked" I've tried everything bar putting it in the freezer. Apparently putting it in the freezer very rarely works for freeing up the heads anyway.

There are free loops at www.acidplanet.com and I buy my loops from www.BetaMonkeymusic.com a great value site for great loops.

Cheers. It would seem like large amounts of free loops are a thing of the past then.

If the ones from acidplanet aren't my cup of tea I'll try buying some from betamonkey.
Do the betamonkey packages include single hits?

Are they beta monkey ones that you have been using in your songs by the way?
If so could you email me a few bits and bobs for me to experiment and tell me what pack they are off so I can experiment with them before I start buying them.

The loops in your songs sound great! DO you think betamonkey loops will respond well to beat splicing?

I'm really impressed with the production of your songs. You are a good singer too. Singing really is my weakspot.

I've downloaded a few of the free samples from betamonkey and its all flooding back to me how to chop them up and get them all working.

I'd forgotten I have to create a loop, mix it and save it as a CEL(cool edit loop) file before I re-insert it and start using it. That way I have no trouble with beat splicing.

JDOD, one that I forgot about is Sounds on Line. They are connected with East West and there is a huge library there of any kind of drum loops and single hits of percussion that can think of. I have used a lot of their stuff in the past and been very pleased with it.
