Just wondering..
Is it possible to use The Toneport KB as an interface to record drums on to Reaper.

Connect Drums to Toneport Via Midicable, then record on to reaper..
Would this hold advantages over normal line input recording, Will I be able to use VST Kits to select drums sounds then ?
Anybody using similar set up ?

You can't do that. KB has no MIDI IN connection you can only use it for the keyboard.

You could record the stereo out of your drum kit and record it as stereo but not as MIDI.

You can get a MIDI Sport UNO (or something like that) for a pretty low price. That's what I use.

Thanks Tony.
Do you your Toneport with Reaper?
If so do you use the keyboard much ?

I had The Remedy VST Keyboard going on it last night, but I upgraded to newest version of Reaper and it stoped working.
God..your brain would be fried trying to get things working sometimes.

I don't have a KB, I have a UX2 & I don't use reaper (Acid)

That last sentence is why I never recommend people changing software unless there is actually a need to do it, if you wanna make music then keep it simple and stick to what you know (I realize you had a reason so that's not aimed at you).

Hey there, you could simply pick up an M-Audio Uno or the like. Simple single port midi interface. Then hook the midi out of the Roland brain to the Uno and then it will allow the midi note data to be recorded in Reaper.

I was speed reading and buzzed right past that one. Sometimes my page scanning ability needs a little work. Maybe I blinked.

Thanks lads..

Remember I was telling ye about the Midi Keyboard on the Toneport, well It worked on Reaper before, I upgraded Reaper and it stopped working, So I eventually got it to work again last night after backtracking to OCT 2007 Reaper release.
Then..This morning turn on my Dell Inspiron 6000 Laptop, and the display is gone, after a bit of research it appears to be a backlight-inverter issue..
I am beginning to believe life would be better without technology and laptops...

PS...When I get it fixed , if I do ! I will check out the M Audio UNO..

Tell me its easy to get going..I am sick of going to bed late and up early.
