how can i slave a midi device?

i am rushing headlong into buying a recording computer and it just occurred to me: i dont know how to slave my korg triton to my computer/software.

in my current setup, i depend upon the triton to run in sync with my boss br-8's midi time clock. that way i can experiment with different drum loops that stay in sync with the measures inside the recorder, without committing to them. i'll need to do that when i move into the digital domain too. do i need to look for some kind of sound card that has midi jacks? where do i connect a midi cable to my computer and is there anything else i need to think about here?

thanks for your continued help, you guys are great.

Hey,

Yeah - you just need a Midi Interface - there are plenty avaliable, some are USB and some come on certain soundcards (The M-Audio Audiophile springs to mind)

Then all you have to do is connect the MIDI out of the Soundcard to the MIDI in of the Triton et voila!

Hope that helped.

jues saves the day again. i assume i'll also have to set the software somehow to send an outbound midi signal. cross that bridge when i come to it. thanks.
