I made this wallpaper to help me out on the little things that are hard forme to remember, seeing I know nothing about music theory. The frequency range chart is just nice to have period :)
I plan on making more of these with custom charts and such, this one's just a concept, if you will. So if anybodys interested, just let me know what kind of charts and/or info you want on it and how pretty you want it to look. (this is minimalists wallpaper.) I'm surprised no one on the internet has thought of using the desktop wallpaper as a studio reference until now.
And this one's just for fun:

Jan 09, 2008 06:21 pm Man, I came in here thinking there was some newfangled badass wallpaper that would sound treat my studio if applied :)
Nice though, I have some big posters hanging on the closet next to my PC for reference.

Jan 10, 2008 09:27 am I for one think it is a great idea. In fact the meld of the two posts would not be bad either. One piece of art I have in the studio is a framed bass part to 'Jumpin at the Woodside'. Done right they could serve as art for the casual observer and reference for the tech.

Jan 10, 2008 10:53 am Thanks. I have this as my wallpaper now. I'm thinking of making one of my own that shows all my routing. That would come in real handy at times.

Jan 10, 2008 01:05 pm Ya know what BH, if ya get bored at work one day or get some extra time, draw your routing, scan it, and send it over. I'll do it up in Photoshop in a GUI style so to speak. Funny, I didn't think anyone would use this thing, lol.
And Walt, you read my mind.
Jan 10, 2008 01:43 pm This is cool, kind of obvious yet no one has thought of it.
I have a JPG of all the chords in each key. I'll try and find that and you can make one from that :)
There's also some cool pictures of natural chord movements here.

Jan 10, 2008 10:28 pm Heck ya that is cool Keith. I'm with BH. People freak out when I put stuff like that up for my wallpaper. Dungbeatle did my up a wallpapaer size circle of fifths a couple years ago. I still put it up on occasion as its a very cool 3D image.
Jan 11, 2008 03:24 pm I talked about this on the Home Made Hit Show today. It's a great idea.
