hi everyone,
i am in a dead end, i bought a midi controller (cme uf 50) to boost my music on laptop, but its been a while that i cant find a way to make sound of it, i read lots of forums, and i decided to install midi-ox, when i run midi-ox, it says there are no input midi device, btw in device manager uf50 appears like usb audio device and(location 0),
in reason i downloded the remote files and others, and in advenced midi section there are no miidi inputs, when i try to manually add uf 50 to reason i choose manufacturer and model but midi input select is always "not selected", an preferences/audio/audiocard driver i have:
asio cme asio dirver
dx primary soundcard
dx matrix kfw
mme matrix kfw
btw tryied all the combinations but which to choose i dont know, what is asio driver and whats the difference btween mme and dx.
and also in the same section (in reason) it writes active channels: 2 out of 2 and the channels button is inactive.

and also in ableton its not natively supported my controller and no input, and for output it says "microsoft gs wavetable sw synth" what is this?

can anyone help me i am in deep need of any help,
thax for your time :)

The UF-50 is both and audio interface and midi controller with a built in midi interface that uses USB. It sounds as though you are only looking in the audio preferences not the midi preferences. You will have to look at the midi preferences section to open the midi interface portion of the controller.

And actually you may have skipped the install of the actual midi drivers.

sorry i did not understand you saying by "actual midi drivers", uf 50 dont need a driver to install, though i have nothing about "midi" in my device manager, could it be the problem. could my laptop somehow doesnt support the keyboard.
it is possible to use uf 50 with the laptops onboard soundcard, am i right dear admin?

OK, it appears to be a plug and play device. So it will as you stated above show up as USB Audio Device. I am wondering if there is a setting on the UF-50 itself to switch it out of wireless mode into full USB mode.

Here is a link to the CME site with downloads for the manuals and firmware updates. I suggest contacting them to see what they say about it. www.cme-pro.com/en/product-detail.php?product_id=2

Otherwise it should be able to be found in the control panel of Windows to see if it is even active. You may need to have Windows search it out and set it up for it to be active.

i already talk with the shop i take it back to the shop and we tried to upgrade the firmware, and it has stopped at 99 percent and after that keyboard didnt turn on, and i left it and i waited them to communicate with the cme headquarters, and after few weeks they send the motherboard of the uf 50 to cme, to upgrade its motherboard. they gave me a new one, and i started allover to try everything and i wrote to forums in cme's website its been few days they didint respond. in the forums i read that some guys have problems with upgrading the firmware.
so i have some questions,
i have 4 usb ports but i dont know which of them is usb2, do i need to plug it into usb2?
could be a conflict in my devices, bcs in device manager i have bluetooth high quality audio and realtek high definition audio.
thank you, i tried with wireless on and off...nothing changed...
do you have any other advices?

I'm really not sure why you are not getting a connection via midi. It is possible that you may not be plugged into a USB 2.0 port. I know on some newer interfaces that can cause problems. That might be worth a try.

Otherwise I would say bug CME again to see what they can do for you. It really sounds like an issue on their end.

Are you running Windows XP Pro or another version of Windows?

OK, that is the problem there. Media Center is not set up to run this kind of stuff. It is basically a glorified video and music player.

There have been a lot of people who have had issues with trying to run recording applications and hardware on Windows Media Center addition. I am not sure if it is a different driver data base or what but it has many issues that pop up here at times.

The problem with Media Center is that they exchanged alot of the normal input and service .dll's for extended media codecs and other crap no one will ever need. Looks like it's time to side-grade to XP home or Pro.

I would suggest a full format to make certain the MC does not leave any of its garbage behind.
