What a league. 3 teams run away with the regular season and all of them are out in the first round of the playoffs.

I screwed up because I didn't realize the playoffs started this week and forgot to set my team :)

But I am a shock finalist in my money league where even coming second gets me $500 I have the lowest points in the league from 10 teams yet I have made it to the final game.

I'm completely astonished that my team has made it this far, especially after my poor management early on in the season.

Further proof, I guess, that even the incompetent can succeed!

My wife would argue I am the better example of that.

I just checked...by some fluke, I made the playoffs...and by some even bigger fluke I won in the first round!

At least I am not on the very bottom, I'm one up from the biggest looser. What a fall from grace.

Here are the final standings:

These are the guys I've figured out:

Subherbs = Herb
Battlers = Bleak
Zek's Decoys = Zek
Old Baldy = Me
Grandpa? = ????????
The Behri-axes = Tadpui
Ron Mexico's Dog = Shepherdsam
Tom Brady + Others = Tonyoci
Drought Dawgs = dB
Barley Processors = BeerHunter
Intimidators - Noize
Goobers = pjk

Thanks again guys for playing! I know that most of you have other leagues that you join, and that this one is just for fun. It makes the football games a little bit more interesting.

Let's do it again next year!

If I may be so bold.

If you have as many teams next year you need to make the rosters smaller. + you should change your points system to be more generous. I play in another league for money (which I won by luck this year) where we only use 2 receivers, have 1 less sub and we give 1 point per reception & 1 point for every 10yds running. Makes for more fun.

However the main problem is too many teams and too many people not staying active :)

I'd like to know how I lost a tie in the consolation playoffs despite having a higher seed and more bench points - what was the criteria ??? The playoffs were fun watching all the giants fall.

My other league had 12 teams but the smaller roster...I wouldn't mind a smaller roster, but I don't have a personal problem with the point system, other than I didn't get enough of them...ever... :-D

Oh, I believe that # of losses is 1st tiebreaker, then # of wins, then cumulative score. I had 2 regular season ties, so maybe that had an impact. I dunno, you only lost 2 this season and I lost 5...

I think that my year is a huge example of why they put decimal scoring in place. I had 2 reagular season ties (back-to-back weeks) plus a tie in the playoffs. 1 tie in a year is irritating. 3 in a year is freaking cosmic. Its just plain silly that that's even possible.

I don't mind the roster size, I just didn't like the low default scoring. 4 points for a passing TD? silly!

There would be less ties if you had higher scoring, we haven't had a tie in our league for 5 years and we don't use decimal scoring.

If #of wins or losses was a factor then I should have won or are you saying MORE losses wins ???

I don't think this is the default scoring is it ?? I'm sure the default scoring gives 6 for a TD

These are all great ideas and great questions. I have no answers, only this: You'll recall that when I sent out the initial message, I asked folks to review rules and procedures and offer up any changes they'd like to see. Make sure you remind me of these things before next season's draft. I'm not hardcore. I don't really care. These things are low on my list of things to worry about. I'll forget before next time.

Tony, this is why you lost your playoff game:

Also, almost any question you might have is all right there in the rules.

Here are some Herb quotes from early on:

[quote]

How's this game played, anyway?

Hey, do I need to know anything about the real players? If any sort of complex strategy is involved here, I'm gonna suck.

I'm counting on Herb's Blurbs to take the title with little or no effort.

I guess I'm not getting the hang.

Noize, if a footbally-challenged (do you like that term?) newbie like me can win at fantasy football, anyone can.

I'm fine with what ever happens as well. Hopefully next year I'll be able to not get distracted by family issues and tend to my team. But at least I finished one place ahead of last year. :-)

And ya, Herb was a ringer for sure! He had the second highest number of moves and that tells me something. He was paying attention to his team.

But ya, you can count me in for next season as well.

Hey Jim, I was not complaining, it was fun. I run another league and it can be a pain. All I'm saying is that that league has run for a number of years and has kinda honed it's rules nicely. However it's tough to do anything with so many teams.

Thanks for the tiebreaker rules, I had no idea about that stuff. In our league we use bench points as the first tie breaker.

Noize, it's all about delegating your free time. I had a little more than usual in the past few months.

Nice quotes, Jim!
