Pretty Fly and Paranoid

Ok, Ive been cleaning my hard drive up. And in the process I've come across these two tunes me and my son did. The are not the greatest, as this is when I first got my recording gear and he was just learning to play drums. We are off in a few places and they are not exact covers (alot of ad-libbing). On "Pretty Fly For A White Guy", the vocals are a little funny. I've got around 100 gigs of stuff I have to go through and I imagine I will find more gems :). Anyway enjoy the laugh !!!

I cant remember if I used my current drum mic set up or the older one. I mic the way the SAE www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html recommends. I started with that set up then swithed the overheads to x/y (didnt like it) and went back. Its probable the 1st (since they sound ok). I use Audix mics on the kick, toms and over-heads, the snare is a shure sm57. I use some eq and compression on the skins. The overheads I leave alone. I also used chorus on the bass abd snare on a few tunes (very little). I just load plugins and try them. Here are some pics.

Interesting bits, I will say that. Although I agree the timing is off here and there its still pretty cool.

Its off alot :). It was fun. And when Im dead and gone he will have something to remember me by. He is better now. But his stamina (spelling) needs work. He plays so stinkin hard he wears himself out.
