I bought all my gear used including my m-audio pro tools and the ilock. The ilock itself has been a little bent from someone being an idiot and bumping it while walking by. It has worked fine but now my pro tools wont load correctly and after looking at the ilock it looks worse than before. Does anyone know if ill be able to get a new one since its not really under my name and I dont know any of the registration info?

The only thing I can suggest is to bring it to a memory/ ram retrieval specialist. If you have the discs for the software, you can easily re-install the licenses, but if you dont, the only other option is to try and salvage the data on the ilock. Symantec and other companies will not take on this burden, so ask around at your local computer store and see if they throw you some options.

I know how much this sucks, it's happened to me before and it's never a quick or easy fix.

If you don't mind me asking, what licenses do you have on the ilock? If it's just PT or an RTAS/VST pack or something, I can tell you if DigiDesign can help ya out.

Problem being is the iLok is a proprietary type USB device. It isn't just a memory stick of sorts. Odds are really good you won't be able to salvage anything from it key wise.

Here is a link direct to the iLok site FAQ page. www.ilok.com/cgi-bin/WebO...ge?page=FAQPage
I suggest giving it a browse over and see if there looks like any solution that might work for you.

I do know that a user email is one thing that can link you to iLok content. But it will cost you to get it replaced or transfered into your name.
