For all you Logic 8 users out there..

Hello, I'm new to HRC, and this is my first post.

First off I had a couple questions about logic. Me and my friend are doing a project and we cannot find some tools needed to edit. Can you help me out?

1. How do you slow down the playback speed (playing your recorded audio at half speed for listening to make fine tune cuts) on Logic?

2. Right now, Logic is in a sort of lock-to grid mode, my waveforms lock into the tempo that I have set. I don't want that to happen. I want it to slip rather than lock to grid.

In case you needed to know, I'm using a firepod.
Any other help regarding the use of Logic would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

For slowing down you should be able to simply slow down the tempo. Although you may have to look for a setting that allows time stretching so the audio does not get messed up.

As for the locking thing. Are you talking about the snap to grid? As in if you drag a waveform it snaps to either a measure or time such as 1/8th or 1/16th notes or something. You simply need to turn off the snap feature and then you can drag anything midi or audio to anywhere and drop it precisely where you want it.

Otherwise, if you plan on slowing things down having the audio lock to tempo is a good thing as that is part of how it does time stretching and not distort the audio when you slow it down or speed it up.
