Reason Redrum Question

I use Bome's Mouse Keyboard which enables you to use the alphabetical keyboard like a midi keyboard through Redrum. I have assigned all the drum sounds to the 10 channels. How would I add more like for a double bass drum or other various percussion. I know how to change the sounds for each key but can you assign different keys? What would be a good approach to go about this?
Thanks

i'm not sure i understand your question. you have 10 drum sounds already assigned to each of the channels in redrum. can you use your keyboard to access those 10 sounds now, and you want an 11th key to play an 11th sound? or is your question something else?

so, have you tried adding a second redrum, or using the nnxt and putting a different drum sample on each key so that you can use more than samples per instrument?

I don't know anything about the keyboard program you have though, so don't know if that will allow to use more than 10 keys at once...

i tried adding another redrum in the combinator and applied different sounds however when i press c1 both sounds hit at the same time like the kick and crash for example. i was going to try nnxt but i was curious if there was a way to do it with redrum as the xt frightens me.

setting up the nnxt is a little tedious for what you want to do, but it is not that difficult. you should be ok with it. i can't think of any way where two redrums would work together...maybe is there a midi splitter or something like that? I don't know, that seems more difficult than using the nnxt, if there is even such a thing...sorry, i'm starting to realize i'm kinda useless...

you could set a redrum kit up with two identical samples on two different "keys"...it's pretty easy, look at the individual .wav file of the kick (it's the little folder button by the sample name....just copy and paste it into another "channel" on the redrum and you'll have two different keys triggering the same sample. OR you (if you can) you might beable to assign more than one key on your keyboard to the same sample.

my concern here would be velocities you can't exactly hit your keyboard harder for a louder sound..

i would do that except i ran out of channels. as for velocities is there a way it could automatically make it sound human. Its not robotic because i play it in real time but the velocities are stagnant. any ideas besides drawing them in?

drawing them in can be time consuming for sure....but i've done it plenty of times, so it is possible.....ya can get through a song pretty quickly when ya streamline the work.....AND it's good practice for you're ears....but if ya wan't more feel, and care enough about the project you can get through it.....get a basic pattern up an running, edit the 4 or 8 or even 16 bar "pattern" then copy and paste it....add a few fills here and there and it gets to sound good.

otherwise you might decide it's time to get a usb keyboard controller (you can find them pretty cheap) which is WELL worth the investment, because i don't see too many musicians playing their qwerty keyboard....so go with what your needs are.
