soundcard question?

im customizing a gateway pc and it doesnt say anything about a soundcard. It just says "Integrated Enhanced Audio". Obviously i dont know much about the recording process yet but i was wonderin if i even need one to start with cause i plan on buying a better one in the future anyways.

Jan 31, 2003 07:21 pm "Integrated Enhanced Audio" translates to "piece of crap AC97 codec sound chip"...no you don't need, even if you do get it, it may comein useful for it's MIDI port, but that's about it...as far as audio goes it won't stand up to the challenge of even a semi-serious home studio.
