ok one mastering question

i just want to know what is the formula in mastering
like what you do first or your method in mastering will be good too
just me me to get a general idea
or maybe all the info would be highly appreciated

eq is tonal balance, and compression/limiting is getting the levels right...basically the goal is to get your project sounding good on any audio system...weather it's a top notch sysetem or a kid on the home pc....the goal is to get it sounding it's best on all playback systems.

my process is generally:

1) compress lightly (multiband compressor if possible)

2) eq to get the spectrum even

3) maximize to make it louder
