Does asio work if im using a usb mixer?

ASIO for what? The mixer or some other component? What is the problem you are having?

Most likely ASIO will work for a USB mixer. You'd expect it to have it's own driver, if not then ASIO4ALL should work.

I'd say it depends on two things:

1. the software you're using, like sonar, cool edit, etc. Most use ASIO, some don't.

2. the drivers provided with the device. My device gets ASIO drivers loaded when I load the device driver. Also it loads the other interface drivers.

To my understanding, there's two layers of drivers: 1. Hardware driver, and 2. interface driver. The last one can be ASIO, WDM, MME (assuming windows) and possibly others.

Anyhow, you could try ASIO4ALL, as I've heard many people using this with good results.

Mr. Google should be able to find it for you.
