I can only hear playback in ONE CHANNEL!! HELP!

I'm using Cubase SX3. I'm recording to a mono track. My soundcard (Tapco USB) is working fine, with all in's and out's set up correctly. all Tracks are panned to the middle, so I should hear playback on both channels right?? Wrong, only the left.

When I use Adobe Audition I hear playback in both channels, crystal clear.

So what am I doing wrong??

Also, how do I export MIDI files out of Cubase??

Sound to me like you may be recording into one side of a track that is set up as a stereo track in the software...at least that is what first comes to mind.

How about the master buss, or master output of the application? Not at track level, but at application level, is that assigned properly to like outs 1/2 rather than out 1 or out 2 by mistake perhaps?

no i've made sure that's all ok too.

Is there any way I can export my midi file from Cubase?? I think i'm going to edit everything in Audition instead..
