I am fairly fluent in using Wavelab, but for some reason when I click on the cd burn icon, my cd burner doesn't show up in the device pull down menu. When I go to other functions, the cd player shows up, so I know the program knows it's there. HELP??! Thank you,,,mds

Go to Steinberg and download the latest burner definitions to install into your WaveLab install...you have to do this periodically if your burner is newer than your WaveLab production date.

there IS a fix for this....this was a bug in version 4 (i use).....you gotta download a file, and save it to your wavelab folder *in program files > steinberg > wavelab*


i've only had to use it once, so lemme see if i can find it again....if not google "wavelab cd burner fix" or something of that sort.

this IS a known issue, and there are fixes for it....i'm just not sure where at the moment.

I wouldn't even call it an "issue" it's unrealistic to expect an app to know a burner that was created AFTER the app was...some apps can do this because they use very generic drivers for every burner, WaveLab and other more fine tuned apps define each burner, or burner family/series, individually.

i don't think that's the problem....

when you install wavelab, it checks your drivers and what not, then when you go to burn a cd, you can select whichever drive you want to burn from....problem is, wavelab won't "see" your burner and so the drop down menu is empty....the fix is a very small patch that you gotta paste into your wavelab folder in program files....i've got a back up of it somewhere around here....maybe i can e-mail it too ya...i tried searching and it's pretty hard to find now.
