Toneport UX8

line6.com/toneportux8/ind...UX8+CenterFlash

POD X3 (seems to be a Toneport that can also work standalone)
line6.com/podx3/

POD X3 Live
line6.com/podx3live/

Cool stuff but no Variax connectors on the POD version, not clear about the LIVE version. It would be nice to sell the XT Live and Toneport and just have one unit to play both roles.

i was wondering when line 6 was going to make a processor that combined everything. the new XT looks sweet, good for the musician, not the best for the company, in the way that now you can buy one peice of gear and get all the guitar models (with out having to buy the upgrades) get addtional bass amps( no need for a bass XT) , get mic pre's , and have a digital out. My old johnsen J-station had a few bass amps and the digital IO (that was 7 years ago too) but it didn't pack all this .

Yeah, this product line was pretty easy to sniff out. Personally, I have no need for most of that. I mean, it's great for those that'll use it, but for a caveman like me, I have a couple pet models for clean, a couple for dirty, a bass or two and I am happy.

The more options one has the less music actually gets made cuz more time is spent fiddling around.

I'd have loved an XT/Toneport combination but this doesn't quite pull it off.

I had loads of stuff, sold a bunch of it now I get by with just my KB37...don't need anything else myself. I think the KB37 was a brilliant package for the home/hobby musician.

I like the standalone capability of the POD, there's many a time I just want to turn on and play and not go through the whole PC startup performance. That's why one unit performing both roles would be great + all the little extra's.

I can see that, doesn't apply to me, but I can see it would for many, maybe most.

that's a lot of options. as db says, it can lead to fiddling. however, the hybrid capability is great. i've been wanting something that can do that.

Almost all of the options in this unit are already available in the Toneport. What the Toneport doesn't supply is the ability to play standalone and no variax connector. If the bean X3 had variax power I still might be interested but somehow they just don't seem to want that.

The UX8 looks REALLY nice considering its like 8 toneports put together, would have been nice to put in analogs preamps for each channel, id get it for sure if they did some preamps on each channel before digital, even though i know thats not really line 6's thing. Just saying that would be the sealer for me
