I recently got a new Gateway Vista notebook and need some sound card help. I need a usb or pc card to connect my digital rec. console into so I can record audio using sound forge. I need one that supports coaxial SPDIF. The usb cards I have been lookign at only come with spdif optical adapters and only support 5.1 or 7.1 speakers. I did have some 5.1 klipsch promedia speakers, but the amp in the sub dies a while back. Any suggestions as to what to get and what speakers will work with it? Thanks in advance

Sep 20, 2007 06:48 pm A little pricey at this point. All I really need with the sound card is a coaxial spdif connection to connect to my mack D8B to the notebook. Maybe I can find something cheaper??

Sep 20, 2007 09:00 pm There are a couple of other s/pdif converters out there. If I get some time I will try and find the ones I have seen in the past.

Sep 22, 2007 02:22 pm I came across a converter with only one spdif coaxial jack on one end and optical on the other. I would prob. need 2 of those for spdif out and in. Also read on Turtle Beach's site about the SRM usb soundcard, how to get my old Boston BA735 digital speakers to work with the card using a converter. I did find this cheaper on other sites, but posting this link since I had it up...
