Start layering in the other instruments / vox. They will tell you what to do to the drums.

compress the kick to boost it a bit if it need boosting...

Is each drum on an individual track? How'd you mic and record it?

I assume they are on one channel beings they are digital, you have the option of compressing the whole kit (just a tad) for a bit of warmth and then use a bit of reverb using a drum plate. Should help them sound as if you watching a drummer play vs. resting your head on the snare while it's being hit. Ya know, set em back a bit.

Just saw a warmer on another site (guess which one)

www.jeroenbreebaart.com/audio_vst.htm

Look for Ferox. It's a tape saturater, warmer type thing.

There's other warmers as well. Magneto, PSP Vintage Warmer, Voxengo Warmifier (i think).

There's also Ruby Tube, which models the tube warmth effect (haven't tried it).
