Does anyone know if there is a noticeable or significant difference in performance of these to preamps?

Aug 28, 2007 05:30 pm I haven't used the MP-20, but I know a lot of people replace the op amps in them. I have the LT and love it. Sounds real nice and clean. I'd buy it again.

Aug 28, 2007 06:21 pm The MP-20 has a little more going for it other then just a simple gain knob. But as stated above, the thing performs better with a change in the op amp. Not sure what exactly the mod is but it does make for a better sound. The LT of course is and 8 channel unit with ADAT light pipe output so it is a bit better digital front end if that is what you are looking for.
As for the sound. The MP-20 can be some what warmer sounding then the LT. The LT is a very clean unit but can be driven into clipping easily. But if you are careful it will work great. I prefer the sound of the MP-20 with the little experience I have with both units.

Aug 28, 2007 08:35 pm Well, from your answers I should be ok. I already have a digimax LT that hasn't been hooked up yet, and I was debating on trading a keyboard for an MP-20. I went on and did the trade I figure the worst that could happen if I didn't like it is that I try the MP-20 in a live guitar rig set-up, which I have never tried.
