I am trying to figure out what is the difference between those 2 comps except for the $100 in price difference. The specs are the same and cannot find any subjects on the net one versus the other.

I need a comp just for speaches over a small PA, all I need is a basic comp with decent quality

The 166 www.zzounds.com.../item--DBX166XL has a limiter...which is handy in PA situations for sure...

I have the 266 (not XL) myself, and am selling it now. I used it in live applications for a few years and it worked just fine...still works fine, I just don't need it any more. The 166 I have no experience with.

The DBX unit is a more sturdy unit. And I am a Behringer fan so don't think I'm jumping on them. The 1952 just didn't have the sound I though it might when I heard it. The DBX unit is a cleaner unit by far.

Yeah I have the T1952 it's allright but too fragile to take on the road, it sounds good for the price,
btw waht is that "tube" option????? brightness??? I hardly hear a difference except for a bit more brightness in the signal bt bareley noticeable going from 0 to 10.
