I just posted this at another forum ..

=======

Can you imagine Ricky Ponting saying this

"Australian Cricket is in transition and we don't know who is going to be the new manager.

"So until that's sorted, you don't know, it might have an effect on my decision [to play]."

Apart from 'Cricket' that's Viduka's direct quote.

Well i say ...

"Some Australian Footballers are precious little wankers.

"So until that's sorted, you don't know, i may just not give a f*&%."

Yes (Marty) it is about 3am and i'm drunk again but Jesus this kind of attitude really pisses me off.

I'm also cognitive of the fact that salary's are paid by the clubs and blah blah blah

but cmon ...

This is you're COUNTRY.

Time for the V-Bomber to walk away

=====

Even without context, was i ok?

Yes, you're fine. You can substitute the word "baseball" or "basketball" or "football" for your and your sentiments would be immediately universalized.

OK, I tossed out the nonsensical stuff and rereadit, yes, I see what you are saying, and yes, I agree with the sentiment.

Interesting talk on the Michael Medved show yesterday about thug athlete's in college, and the awarding of scholarships to people who will never have any real impact on society, and more likely negative impact (the thug, stupid athletes) as opposed to awarding them to academic performers that may actually do something with themselves and society.

Very interesting show it was.
