Alright folks

BEen a while!

Man, Ive been madass busy. Anyways, I've been eying this sucka here up:

www.digitech.com/products/Vocalist_Live2/

Tis gettin great reviews everywhere and indeed, for the cash looks, pretty damn good.

Anyone tried this puppy out?? Works uniquely by the GUITAR chords rather than the vocals in terms of the keys it uses...cool eh ;-) !

Any thoughts?

Nice one WYD...aye, been away a long while man!

Been good yerself I hopes...

Regards this piece of kit, its new my man which is maybes why you aint see it just yet .... I think, its maybe just a few short months since it release....some sound samples on the Digitech site link I passed ya. Check it oot man. Niceeee

Seems to be compared to some Helicons (rightly or wrongly) And doing no bad on the auld Harmony Central reviews website ... but, ah dunno - Im always sceptial of such things but it sounds no bad and works from guitar chords meaning, bum notes here and there in the vocals COULD perhaps be hidden by the autogenerated harmonies ;-)

Hey Coco, good to see you again!

I've never heard this one before but just one thing I would watch out for. Make sure that when changing from patch to patch that there isn't any noise.

That is... say you need to move 3 presets from the one you are using. Make sure it doesn't engage until you need it to. Otherwise you may hear something like a "swoosh" of a phaser before you arrive at the desired patch.

Jeez, did any of that make sense??

OldDog uses one I believe. You can hear it on several of his recordings that he's posted here.

Hey coco, I used the original Digitech vocalist rack unit years ago. It needed the midi input to do complex stuff like that, and you really needed to know exactly what to do to make it work. Although it did have some standard type harmony programs that worked without having to play the chord structure you wanted it follow. But it was cool as hell. I just kind of stopped using it or needing it so out the door it went. Now I miss having it.

That is a cool unit though and might just peak my interest in getting a newer version of it.

Looks like a cool piece of gear. I almost bought the earlier model and the reviews I've read by users have been pretty positive. I don't know how it compares with the tc-helicon like I have but it's quite a bit cheaper and I think the biggest thing with any of these harmony gadgets is just getting used to how you have to sing and set them up to produce good results.

TC-Helicon is coming out with an addon for my unit that adds the guitar chord & note capability, I'm just waiting to see how expensive it's going to be and if it's not too much I'll probably pick it up. I do have a keyboard though so it's not essential but it sure would be cool.

Good to see & hear from you again!

I just watched the video, way cool. This thing was tracking perfectly along, with a ton of oddball chords.

Good to see ya again Coco, glad it's because of being busy!

Coco,

Glad to hear that you're still schemin' on the latest bit o' kit to add to your collection. I thought maybe the Les Paul put an end to your gear acquisition days!

Aside from that, good to hear from ya! We need to get another HRC collab goin' to get me (and probably a bunch of others) back into the "studio"!

That Vocalist Live 2 looks like just the thing! If you go that direction make sure you let us all know how it works!

Hope DMR is still rockin' Scotland!

Bought it guys!!!

Braw stuff...much cheapness as well from Thoman (Some UK retailers had it for way much more - £80 / $140!!! MORE!)

Anyways, I've been done some test recordings with it...sounds sweet as a nut...I hope to do some worthy of posting up soon and when I do, I'll let ya hear it. It is good to my mind tho - comes with 6 harmonies (2 usable at once) with reverb compressor and eq (indepedent as rqd)....decent!!

Havin fun. When done, I'll post.

Cheers amigos
