Total newbie needs help here. I need to connect mic AKG550 to desktop computer console (I use WindowsXP). Mic output is three prong male ll/16" around. Any ideas? I am at this moment clueless, and the help guy at a major audio store hasn't helped me. So here I am!. Ideas, anyone?

I'm gonna say it's an XLR connection. pretty common for microphones.

like this:

i'm gonna guess.

You'll have to specify what desktop computer console you're talking about. I'm not real sure what that is.

yeah what kinda audio interface/soundcard are you using?

if it's just got an 1/8" (small) headphone jack (line in) you're gonna need a preamp for the mic than a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter.
