That's too bad, while I did go there often any more, it was one of the coolest magazine/sports card/RPG type stores around...

The only store you could get a new Dungeons and Dragons game module, the latest copy of High Times, a vintage baseball card with matching bobblehead and an adult video under one roof...

That truly sucks! That was the one place I could go and find any magazine I wanted, imported or domestic. I'm talking music magazines here, not the other stuff. Never ever did go to the back room at any of the stores.

the Burnsville store is were the kids bought their first Pokeman cards and such. And little Ray at the time knowing his Charzard would only hold its value for so long sold it for $375.00 when it hit its peak. I have a pretty substantial baseball card collection as well that we occasionally would dip into and sell a few off for some fun money.

That was a cool place to say the least. Maybe Joel Shinder will buy it back and it will be reborn again. It would be a shame to let a store that was around for 90 plus years go away like that.

Really? Didn't know that, so do I...or, as I call it "my retirement account".

I learned two things about Noize in the last two weeks...

Ya dB, I've even got a box of un-opened stuff as well. Kind of saved it for a rainy day when I got a bug to look at some of it again.

When I was younger I collected all sorts of card sets, from TV shows and such. Stuff like Rat Patrol, Dark Shadows, Adams Family, The Munsters, Star Trek, The Monkeys, Paul Revere and the Raiders and bunches of others. I had a huge set from Peterson Publishings Hot Rod magazine. I sold those in like 70 or so to pay for a dirt bike when we moved to Eden Prairie.

Eventually my psycho sister found them and stole em and sold many of the sets that are now worth thousands. Seems she had huge credit card bills she could not pay.

But ya, I think Ray still has a huge collection of Pokeman stuff. I think he thinks they will someday gain value again. But even the rare card are way down in value now.

I used to have some BB cards a long, long time ago. I gave them all away to friends that were into it years ago.

The only thing I have now is my hockey stuff that I use to decorate my music room.

-personalised letter and picture from Bobby Orr
-autographed picture of Ralph Backstrom
-autographed cards from Scott and Rob Niedermayer
-Cam Neely autographed poster
-my latest aquisition is a team autographed Vancouver Giants jersey (Memorial Cup Champions)

Let's see, memorabilia

- Soccerball signed by all the Minnesota Kicks
- Various Vikings autographs...Carl Eller (compliments of Noize and Tuna), Culpepper (now prolly worthless) Michael Bennett, Jack Brewer, Moe Williams and some others...
- Rod Carew autographed baseball and picture
other miscellaneous stuff...

I used to have all the KISS cards but as a kid I glued them all together to finish the puzzle they made (damnit!)...a very few football and basketball card, nothing notable...

Tons of Grateful Dead stuff too, no autographs just "stuff" including but not limited to the old front door of "Know Name Records" the local record shop/head shop place here in the southern burbs...it is full of dead stickers, mostly all out of print now...eventually I always wanted it to be the door from control room to studio, cuz it's big and heavy as hell.

I ran across my 1984-ish Return Of the Jedi trading card collection not too long ago. Just a couple of cards shy of being a complete collection, with a couple of damaged cards as well. If I can replace the missing/damaged ones some day, hopefully it'll worth something.

I guess my biggest accomplishment was my Rolling Stone magazine collection. My cousin bought me a subscription from the very first issue. I then continued it for many years. I had every issue from that first one up until the Dec. 1987 issue. I read them carefully and then put them all away.

I intended to put it up on auction, but at the time Tuna was in a grade school which needed computers very badly. So I donated it to them with the stipulation the money was to go to meeting the needs of the kids. They outfitted the whole school with all brand new computer equipment, and set aside enough to upgrade once again when the day came. My little name now resides on a plaque outside the principles office, which is were I spent most of my days while in school.

And dB, Carl has a booth up there now. I'm guessing he is in the poor house as it seems that is his full time job, selling his autograph. Bummer, he was one stellar dude in the day and still is in my book.
