hi guys first post here!!!
I am looking to buy a usb or firewire mixer. I will mainly use it for onsite recording, mostly for recording audio for documentaries, interviews and sometimes the odd bands that I mix for friends.
I don't care too much for the strip EQ and built in FX as I use a 31 band stereo EQ and parametric EQ more then likely both will be as inserts. The reason why I need to connect to my comp is I want to record digital on my laptop I use Soundforge to edit and cubse and acid for multitracking
now I heard that USB can't record more then 2 tracks at one

Any comments would be appreciated

Thanks

USB cannot as of yet record more then 2 tracks at once.

Of the two mixers you are looking into I honestly must say the MultiMix is probably the stronger contender for the kind of use you are looking at. Its driver set up and such are good deal easier to deal with as well as its software control set up. And the Firewire is really the best bet at the moment for doing multi-channel input recording.
