Yup, it's true.

What it means to me is not much. Not sure it even means anything to any of you either.

Haven't shopped there in years, hate the place, but interesting none the less. Kinda...

Worthy of a posting in our industry news section anyway. Thanks.

Funny, when I first glanced at the thread title I thought it said $1.98 buyout. I thought that was closer to realistic.

Just a drummer, never mind.

The new owners should invest in in-store signs that say "No Stairway To Heaven" and or "No one finger chords allowed"

:))

I hate the place too. I am so lucky to have "The Guitar Gallery" who is owned by Vic DaPra (Google him) an extremely knowledgable dude who has very talented guitar folks there teaching and advising on the right purchases.

It confirms a lot of suspicions. Nobody minding the business....all bean counters.

Yep, the last 15 years or so has seen a huge change from being a decent place with knowledgeable staff who were willing to swing a deal now and then to nothing more then a Super Target of musical instruments. I haven't been in one for at least ten years.

I am lucky to have a Music Go Round near and he finds me most everything I need. I prefer the small shops anyway, as they usually tend to be a bit more informed and are real musicians, not sales people trying to be musicians.
