missing thumbnails when files are moved

hey guys
when i move pictures or videos to new folders, it looks like thumbnails don't come along for the ride. i thought they were supposed to regenerate? can anyone tell me how to get thumbnails for this stuff? mostly it seems to happen with videos.

Jun 28, 2007 10:17 am Navigate to the folder you want to change. Right click, properties. Select the Customise tab. In the drop down list for "Use this folder type as a template" select whether it is a music folder or pictures etc.

does it just take a while for them to show up? since they were moved, is there some problem about the original thumbs.db files? cause like, i moved these out of another folder, which still exists. 'show hidden files,' though, doesn';t reveal a thumbs.db in that folder either. yet in that folder this stuff had thumbnails.
sorry i just gotta figure this out because i need to clear out my entire drive and get organized and stuff, so there;s gonna be a lot of file moving. so far this is only happening with videos, i think.
