I Cant get my line-in input to pick up sound, I was advised by someone on here not to use my compresser, Preamp/Mixer, and mix chain through the mic-in on my laptop and should use the line in..
Cool edit has my soundcard Selected as input/Output
:: Double Checks :: Line-In is selected in my Sound Preferences as Recording, And PLayback (mainly so i can hear myself as i speak ) and When i try recording no sound is picked up.. and No its not muted
I checked all the drivers in Device manager to see if they are able to use line in and they are..
HELP!

Do a Google on "ASIO4ALL" try those drivers, they help at time, the possible issue is simply an integrated card that can't do true full duplex...a possible cost savings effort by the manufacturer since few users use full duplex anyway.

That is probably not the actual sound chip. Yamaha DX is the synth chip imbedded in the sound card that will create the synthisized sounds. And legacy DX means it will handle older versions of sounds from the DX as well.

What is the mother board the sound card is on. Maybe you can find it that way.
