i dont fully understand the different settings on this plugin. which knob represents ratio and threshold? Also, the speed and release arent measured in seconds or ms so im not really sure what settings to use.

May 19, 2007 05:09 pm hmmm cool lookin' program...i'm checkin' out a pic of version 2 and heres's what i can tell
your ceiling is your threshold
drive would be hmmm i donno, i think it's how hard your pushing the output, but im not sure.
knee is how 'harsh' it compresses...soft knee is more like a compressor, and hard knee is more like a limiter.
speed is attack
release is uh release (on the bottom of the app, it gives you exact numbers in milliseconds AND samples (cool).
as for the low's and highs, it looks to me like a simple parametric eq...maybe to affect certian areas of the spectrom (multiband style)
as for the other fiddly-bits on the bottom...i'd just listen to how they effect it...
i'm curious about this plugin, it looks pretty sweet....
May 20, 2007 12:30 pm Funny, I was just searching for this. A guy in Tape Op magazine named it as the one plug in he would have if he could only have one so I was trying to find info

May 20, 2007 05:46 pm Yep, Vintage Warmer took the place of Magneto for the most part here. I still use Magneto though when I need a quick saturation type effect. Otherwise Vintage Warmer is great. There are also controls on the back as well for deeper setting of parameters.
But indeed the controls are pretty much as stated above and in the little article linked by tonyoci.
