Hey guys. The comments given on my other mixes I've put up have been extremely helpful so I'm asking for some more.
This is a remix (sorry to use that term) of a song I posted on here before. This time it's with a little different philosophy and also some newly recorded vocals. Please pull this mix apart bit-by-bit. I enjoy working with suggestions and criticisms.

Once again, it sounds good. Nothing drastic I would really change. There might be a tad bit of muddiness going on in the low end that some cuts between the kick/bass might clean up. I really dig the singers voice though.

Thanks again Cpt Tripps. The singers voice is a little southern rockish wouldn't you say?

So, I fix the muddiness in the low end and mixdown. Then what? Will a little good work on the mastering end really make in "shine" like the big dogs? How do I truly go about getting that big league sound?

Also, how do I go about getting rid of that picture I have as my profile picture? I don't even know how it got there.

Do you guys think that a little reverb should be added to the vocals?

I agree that some verb should be added to the snare. How do I get a nice reverb that adds some thickness to and a nice tail to the sound with out losing the attack of the snare? Also, how do I add that verb without muddying up the sound?

If you have a limited knowledge of mastering (like me) you could try the "Izotope Ozone3" plugin. It can make it horrible if used incorrectly, but when played around with for awhile you can get some nice end results. It has compression, exciters, widening, EQ, Verb, and maximizers all built into one plugin, pretty cool.

They have a demo you can try.

On the snare, I use a send and route it to a reverb bus. This way I keep the original dry snare tone and also have a verb'd snare. I then mix them to taste. If used sparingly I don't think you'll have a problem with it muddying up the mix at all.

On the Vox, I use verb to sink them into the mix sometimes, but I use so little you can't tell it's there but would notice if turned off. I think your vox sound nice though and would not mess with em too much. Try a nice vocal plate at minimal %'s.

Hey guys,

I went back and worked on the muddiness in the low end. I will also do some rolling off before doing any mastering so that should help clear up any muddy stuff going on below the thump of the kick drum.

I added a touch more reverb to the snare and tried to do some mixing of the reverb like CptTripps said.

Let me know what you guys think of the touch ups. too much verb on snare and vocals?

Maybe a tad too much on the snare, but not really, might just add a little more volume on it. But really, nothing wrong at all as that is just personal preference again.

Vox sound good to my ears.

I like it overall and think there is better overall sound as the mix all sits well together.
