my friend said it was "Lo-Fi".
the effect when he says in the chorus
"i'm bringing sexy back"
i wanna just confirm if it is in fact a lo-fi effect, and if anyone can recommend me one.

Apr 09, 2007 12:42 pm i'm not sure exactly what it is, but why would you want to achieve that effect. Not to dissuade you but...It sounds like complete ***. But that's just me.

Apr 09, 2007 01:18 pm sounds like a scoop to the high and lows, with a bit of oerdrive applied to it.

Apr 14, 2007 10:48 pm Yep, it is considered to be the Lo-Fi sound. I've used it many times on different samples. It can be emulated as Loki stated by scooping the low and high end out and boosting a narrow Q in the mid. It may be a touch of overdrive but odds are just over boosting the EQ on the mid will give it that ugly *** sound.
And coolo, you are so right, it sounds like crap on that tune. I can think of a dozen different things he could have done to get that part set apart.
