for example, i have this mixer, then i put 10 mics in it, then i put it in the boss br-532, the br-532 has 2 inputs, so for example i put ONE cable in the OVERALL output of the mixer, then plug it in the 1st input of the br-532, then hit record, will the br-532 record the WHOLE 10 MICS? and will the quality be good?? also, if i remove the smartmedia card, is the music saved as WAV? and can i burn it and edit it in my PC?

How the BR-532 is saved I don't know, it might be a wav, but I am guessing it is probably some proprietary format.

In theory however what you are saying is correct, all ten mics will be recorded to a single track on the recorder. The sound quality will be just fine, the issue will be that once it is recorded you can't go back and "remix" if you realize one mic should be turned up a little, then you are out of luck cyz it's already mixed.

In addition to your thoughts I would like to add that, if you can, run two cables from the mixer to the recorder becuase then you can set the microphone in a stereo sound field to give the recording a little more depth.

what do u mean i cant go back?? cant i edit it in protools or something?? i got another crazy idea, so i plug 2 connections from the mixer to the boss, then hit the record button, then i upload it in my computer, in protools, since protools has a lot of tracks, can i put one recording at a time and combine them? for example at 6:00am i record my drums then upload it into protools, then erase it, then 8:00am i record my guitar, then i upload it into protools, can i combine them using protools?

it says here, the br-532 has an optical digital output, whats that?!

Ya, that was the understatement of the day wasn't it? :-)

Yes you coule dump them one at a time and then go through the trouble of lining them up and crap like that...lotsa work.

Honestly, I think you are overthinking this a little bit. step back for the weekend and let some of what we have said sink in and it will make a lot more sense (it sinks in better with beer :-)
