Mar 30, 2007 02:29 pm Well darn, this is indeed the right place, sorry I took so long... *listening*
Ok, recording is a little rough, and I don't listen to mathews. But, I must say your voice is very nice, you are letting go and singing with alot of heart which I like. Your guitar playing is nice from what I can hear of it. Keep it up.
Now... let's hear some originals, and some cleaner recordings :) Seriously though, a good mic would do you wonders.
Mar 30, 2007 05:48 pm Agree with Tripps...better microphone is definitely in order. It's hard to get a handle on most dynamics with those darn built-in condenser mics on tape machines.
I'm not familiar with the Mraz piece, but I know that DMB song very, very well. Technically, you've got all the notes down, but you seem to be thinking about each one before you sing it. Dave is a hard person to cover effectively because he's got such a unique singing style, and I'm not holding you to that standard, so don't get me wrong. Just try having fewer spaces in between notes...let it flow a bit more.
I'd like to hear more. Originals are always good, but so are covers.
