This is probably the easiest thing to correct but when I record, I can't hear myself in the headphones while recording. Also, From time to time, the vocals will be off beat during playback. I'm using a Tascam US-122 with Adobe Auditon/Cool Edit with default settings and an AKG Perception 200 Mic.

Feb 01, 2007 02:25 pm In cool edit and older Audition software you need to check the "automatically correct drift in recordings". The off beat slowly gets worse over time so it is more prominent in longer songs. It's under options -> multitrack somewhere.
As far as hearing yourself while recording, I don't know anything about your hardware so have no input, sorry.
Feb 03, 2007 09:03 am Thanks for the help. I have a basic system with 512 RAM and 300 Gigs. I was thinking that the problem is with the RAM but when I first hooked the system up, I was able to hear myself while recording. Not sire

Feb 03, 2007 05:38 pm Did you change anything when setting up a new project? Most times it is usually just a setting in the interface's control panel that got switched on or off. I would also check the routing in Audition to make sure the tracks are being routed properly.
Feb 03, 2007 09:17 pm Nah. I didn't change anything. It just stopped letting me hear my voice...crazy

Feb 04, 2007 09:51 pm And you have tried moving the Direct Monitor knob around to ensure that it did not get bumped? With the direct monitoring you should be able to hear it at all times. Or are you monitoring through Cubase and mixer or via the headphone on the 122?
