Here's a new song for 'yall to tear apart! Not musically, of course :p I've done my absolute best on this mix so far, using everything I've learned by reading and doing my best to apply it. Please critique my work and shoot over any and all comments you wish! :)

Jan 28, 2007 04:04 pm That intro is killer, nice length to add to the anticipation factor of waiting for what you know is coming. The first slow down is a nice touch, really helps it set up for the length of the tune to come. Nice changes again coming just before the halfway point. I do notice thought that the drums tend to get a little buried when the big guitar sound is crunching away. Otherwise they are right there and sound very good indeed. I would put an ear to the parts were the guitar is non-stop and very heavy and try and tweak the drums to get them a little more prominent in those spots. Another great break and change at about 7:15 adds more suspense to the piece. I like the way it built back up slowly to the main theme or the song there. Some interesting lead lines going on, some almost seem out of place for a second and then seem just right an instant later. I liked the outro as well, nicely done and a good dramatic ending.
Overall I liked the arrangement of the piece. I'll give it a more thorough listen later and see if I can find any other advice for ya.

Jan 28, 2007 05:10 pm This is good!!!
Guitars and drum tones are very nice. I can actually hear the bass too which gets drowned out in metal quite often.
And once again, the musicianship is top notch. There are some oddities on the solos as Noize said, but I am really into that kind of thing and have always liked those tweaky guitar players who find notes I would normally not think of.
But yeah, this sounds alot better (mixwise) than the last song you posted. The tone is still very real sounding as opposed to being overprocessed yet you managed to lose the 80's metal band garage tone. Good work!!
