you can improve it by putting critiques in the right forum.

Needs more guitars. You've got a decent starting riff, but the mix is too narrow. Start by picking a particular time in the song (maybe about 60-90 seconds in) and add another guitar away from the center of the stereo field, playing block chord patterns or something like that.

You also might want to throw another element into the chorus section...as it is now, it doesn't really stand out that much from the rest of the song.

Another idea would be to take one of the breaks and put a lead on top of the mix, just to give it some diversity.

I don't think it needs any more instruments. The tune is nice and I like the basic mix; switching between 'phones and monitors, it seemed the low mids around 200 Hz were a tiny bit strong, but those are my ears. I thought it was a good effort overall.

The world doesn't necessarily need more guitars.

i gotta appologize for the complete disreguard for the subject at hand, but the WENDY'S add at the top of myspace threw me WAY THE **** OFF!.....Wendy's!

as for the song, it does sound a bit 'empty'...lemme take a shot and i'll get back to this one.

My opinion, I like the song. If it was me I would add some more brass. Cymbals IMO is all you need.

Well, Herb...MY world definitely needs more guitars! :)

Also, I didn't want it to seem that I was unappreciative of the gentleman's effort...I thought it was just fine. But much like WYD, I thought the mix sounded a bit empty.

In retrospect, maybe some brass (not bronze) cymbals, and some guitars strung with good old fashioned catgut might be all that song needs. :-/

Different drums in the chorus for sure, change the beat up completely for that. Adding some cymbals to the beat all through out will help as well. The vocal track needs to be set back with a little reverb and gentle EQ settings to get it apart from the rest of the mix, it sits right in the middle of everything and kind of takes command of the whole song. I would definetly use maybe a small room reverb pluggin and possibly add some chorus effect to the vocal to help set it apart from the rest of the mix without taking over the whole mix.
