Hey, guys. I ran across an article that might be helpful if you find yourself torn between Sonar, Cubase SX, and Logic Audio. This guy has been deep into all three and offers some real good insight. You can read it here:

Very interesting reading...however I noticed it was out before Sonar 2, and from what I have read, Sonar 2 is a major step for Cakewalk, so it will be interesting to see what he says in the next revision.

Myself, I am a Vegas user mostly, Nuendo in given situations, so the article doesn't really apply to me personally much. It is a handful of some very good insight none-the-less.

Since the author is an admitted Logic enthusiast and Logic has recently dropped the PC product from their line it will be interesting to see how that plays out down the road as well.

Thanks for the link.

Yes, he make's some good comparison's. But he did miss some fine point's here and there. The fact that CakeWalk has had key binding's since version 5 and that he complained about it not having them disturbed me a little, but I kept on reading. He does admit he is biased to Logic and it show's. However, having used all 3 program's myself, and realizing that Logic has so much stuff barried so deep that some user's may never find it. My choice's are still Cubase and Sonar. Sonar being the most user friendly of the 2 but Cubase has taken great pain's to come closer. Sonar is really in the lead though today because you can now import and export almost anything, and it also will open right into all the major player's program's such as WaveLab, SoundForge, Acid, Rebirth, FruityLoop's and so-on. And the VST patcher pluggin's now make it possible to use any VST pluggin or instrument seamlessly in Sonar.

Electronic Musician had a Review of Sonar in their October issue, and it was given very high mark's for everything. The reviewer really had very little bad to say other then he couldn't use virtual instrument's as metronome beat's. When their link work's to the article again I will post it.
