Oct 10, 2006 08:33 pm Now wonder ya didn't call me back. :-)
Oct 10, 2006 09:42 pm Please Shammy, . . why the hell would he fight and use that same old retarted game plan that he's been using since the early UFC's. Shamrock deserved to loose for sure. That 2nd fight was good where that dude tri-angled his opponent. Well done, I'll watch middle weights with skill all day over light heavies that all end up in G-n-P.
Oct 11, 2006 10:32 am Shamrock is a tough dude, but aging and fighting in a different UFC than back in the day. The burying of the hatchet was so fake, and some comments made told me the whole "rivalry" thing was totally bogus as well, just a money making move...
The triangle you mentioned was awesome, and that dude walked right into it, thought he had a good sweep and set himself up. Some of the undercards were really good fights.
I love watching good skill, but something about a good ground n pound is fun to watch too.
Oct 11, 2006 08:31 pm Yeah, he did walk into it didn't he. BTW, I would say that the whole emphasis that it was a "free" fight and the fact that Rogan's sidekick said that Shammy said to Tito, " It was fun making money with you..." was a dead give away that it was a cheesy marketing tactic. Oh well, let Dana make his money... I've never really cared for Dana Wright, he reminds me of a used car salesman.
Anyhow, Rich Franklin's next fight this weekend will be a good one. I have a lotta respect for him, he's really tough. Now it looks like Tito will be taking on Chuck Lidell again and that will definately be worth watching. Although, I don't have a pay per view box, I'll just have to get these fights else where.
Oct 11, 2006 08:40 pm Rich Franklin is the real deal, I love watching him...great fighter, and the Ortiz/Liddell fight will be good.
It does seem UFC is going the route of WWE with the marketing tactics and such, I guess it's time to start watching Pride and stuff like that that hasn't quite sold out so much yet. The little local MMA fights are fun too, not as elite of fighters, but still some great fights to be seen.
I may be having my first cage fight in December...if things go according to schedule.
So, well, catch ya later, off to the gym I go...

Oct 11, 2006 10:40 pm It isn't every day you hear a dad wanting to get his kid a fake ID...

Oct 12, 2006 06:57 pm Sorry Geoff, but I dont think you need to worry about the ID thing anymore. But still its a nice sentament. :-)
dB, you know if you were fighting in a place he couldn't get into because of age he'd toss a fit. Besides, I'd have control of the ID soon afterward, and he would be drinken cola anyway. First time he tried to order a beer he'd get smacked upside the head.
Now that I'm thinking though, is he worth the trouble?
Oct 12, 2006 07:17 pm Oh, I know he wouldn't be drinkin or anything, just sounds like a funny thing for a dad to say...

Oct 12, 2006 10:21 pm I know. After I posted it I thought to myself, what the hell did I just say that for? But the intentions are good, illegal as it may be.
But indeed it does sound very strange now that you say it. What parent in their right mind would get their kid a fake ID.
ME, I guess.
