An easy problem to diagnose/fix (hopefully): volume question

In Sonar, if I import a wav file and play it with all volumes at default (0db?), the file plays noticeably quieter than if I play it through, say, sound recorder or iTunes. I don't have any sort of EQ or anything either in the program or on iTunes or volume levelling or any sort of effects or anything, so what gives?

Equipment: Delta 1010, custom-built computer, etc.

Each program has a differant default level for output. Windows media player and other players dont use the same default 0dB full scale that Sonar uses. So they may seem louder, but it is because they are at full volume by default. I normally turn down the players to match Sonar and then simply adjust volume through my mixing desk,

Thanks! I figured it might be something like that. I just hate it when I forget to turn down the monitor volume after blasting it in Sonar. Boy that can get loud!
