Any suggestions for a good DAW hardware controller?

I've been having a look about and obviously the Mackie Universal Controller is a contender. Has anyone had any experience or heard much about the CM Labs Motormix? I'm planning on using it with digital performer 5. Anyone know of anything else worth a look?

Cheers

CM Labs Motermix is a great bit of gear. I have installed and used a few of them. They are easy to create templates with for just about any DAW out there. And they do come with a few allready prepared ones as well. Be aware though that it must be run in ProTools mode to work with Digital Performer and takes a special software pluggin that is available on the CM Labs site.

The Mackie unit is laid out a bit more intuative, which I find very handy. It is capable of everything the CM unit is, and possibly a bit more. It is probably the better bargain if you want something you can plug in and go with, rather then messing about with installing seperate software just for one particular DAW.

Some others are the JL Cooper CS10/2, CME Bitstream 3x, Mixxed Logic M24 which is a bit on the pricey side, but is 24 channels with dedicated EQ section. There are others from the likes of Behringer and Evolution and such as well.

I like the CME Bitstream 3x as it is very affordable and offers a nice screne and a few other goodies. Non moterized faders though, but it is a bit smaller.
